Rural Electrification officers and staff who have been absent under the banner of a mass strike demanding four-point demands have been directed to return to their respective workplaces within 24 hours, failing which legal action will be taken. The Power Division disclosed this in a press release on Sunday (September 7). The statement said uninterrupted electricity supply is an essential service, and obstructing or disrupting it is a punishable offense under the Essential Services Act.
