DHAKA, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today expressed deep grief over the death of prominent writer, researcher and leftist intellectual Badruddin Umar saying he remained engaged in politics for the people's interest till his last breath. "Badruddin Umar dedicated his life to politics and writing for the people," Fakhrul said in a message of condolence today. "Badruddin was a fierce protester against corruption and political injustice. In today's socio-political context, the presence of a fearless, free-thinking intellectual like him was immensely needed," he added.
