The local administration in Tangail’s Basail Upazila will impose Section 144 gathering restrictions amid simmering tensions after freedom fighters and the “student community” announced simultaneous rallies at the same location. Upazila Administrator (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Mosammat Aklima Begum imposed the restrictions around 9pm on Saturday. A group known as the Kaderia Bahini had called a rally at the Upazila’s central Shaheed Minar at 3pm on Sunday.
