SYLHET, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) - Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter today lauded scientists for their contribution in the country's fisheries sector."There is no alternative to research to protect fisheries resources," she said while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of three-day third International Conference for Sustainable Fisheries (ICSF) organized by the Faculty of Fisheries Science at the Central Auditorium of Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU).The conference was organized with the aim of developing sustainable fisheries management and research, exchanging innovative technologies and increasing coordination among stakeholders.In her speech, Farida mentioned that the allocation for the research sector of the concerned research institutes and universities should be increased.Due to the excessive use of pesticides in agriculture during the...
