Prof Anwarul, Dr Rafiqul elected President, Secretary of Netrokona BNP | District
NETROKONA, Aug 31, 2025 (BSS) - Professor Dr Md Anwarul Haque and Dr Rafiqul Islam Hilali have been elected President and General Secretary respectively of the Netrokona district unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) through its long-awaited triennial conference, held after 11 years. The day-long conference, marked by festivity and fervor, took place on Saturday at the Moktarpara ground in the district town. Following the inaugural session, voting was conducted during the council session to elect the new leadership. Five candidates vied for the top two posts, President and General Secretary. The electoral process engaged 1,515 councillors from 15 organizational units, comprising 10 upazilas and 5 pourashavas, each represented by a 101-member committee.
