1.5 lakh cubic feet stones seized from ponds in Sylhet | Others
Acting on a trip off, these stones were extracted using an excavator in a drive on Thursday. The matter of replacing those is under process, said Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Khusnur Rubaiyat. She said the administration was working to replace some of the stones, previously seized in Dhopagul and Lalbagh areas of Sadar Upazila, at Sada Pathor in Companiganj. At that time, it was informed that there were stones in five abandoned ponds in these two areas. Later, Sylhet Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sarkar Mamunur Rashid conducted the drive and were able to extract the stones through an excavator.
